Tottenham are currently scouting Shakhtar Donetsk star – Journalist

Ben Jacobs has revealed in his column on CaughtOffside that Tottenham Hotspur hold a keen interest in Shakhtar Donetsk star Georgiy Sudakov and the journalist also quizzed the midfielder about a potential switch to the North London club in the summer.

Sudakov has emerged as one of the best young talents in the Ukrainian top flight over the last couple of years, with the midfielder having registered 10 goal contributions across all competitions in 2023-24.

The 21-year-old is now being backed to make a move to one of the bigger leagues in Europe and Jacobs has now revealed that he is on the radar of Premier League sides.

The journalist dismisses rumours that Liverpool and Chelsea are eyeing the youngster but he confirms that Spurs and Arsenal have considered moves for him.

Tottenham are scouting Georgiy Sudakov

Jacobs asserts that Tottenham have scouted the Ukrainian international extensively this season and that the Lilywhites see him as a good fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system.

When asked about the speculation linking him with Spurs and Arsenal, Sudakov responded: “It is certainly nice, but I honestly don’t react too much to it.

“I want to focus on my football, my development and my team as much as possible. I’m currently a Shakhtar player and I have great ambitions.

“The European Championship and Olympic Games will take place in the summer, so I want to keep my mind on these tournaments.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is quite interesting to see Spurs being linked with so many young, up-and-coming number eights even though the club have secured the services of Lucas Bergvall. That suggests that the North Londoners are keen on futureproofing that area of the pitch.
