Tottenham are ‘holding back’ January transfer unless £17.4m is put on the table

Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to drag their feet on the sale of one of their senior players, who is keen to leave the club this month.

Amidst all the speculation over Thomas Frank’s future over the last week, it is perhaps easy to forget the fact that Tottenham are in the midst of a crucial transfer window.

There have been plenty of rumours about further outgoings from N17 following Brennan Johnson’s sale to Crystal Palace at the start of the month.

Radu Dragusin continues to be heavily linked with a move to AS Roma, and several sources have claimed that the Spurs defender has made it clear that he wants to leave.

Tottenham are dragging their feet on Radu Dragusin sale

A report in Corriere dello Sport has confirmed what we have heard from other sources by stating that the former Genoa man has ‘expressed’ a desire for an exit from N17.

Roma continue to be at the front of the queue for Dragusin, with boss Gian Piero Gasperini urging the club to prioritise the signing of the Spurs defender.

It is revealed that the 23-year-old would be ‘happy to accept’ a move to the Stadio Olimpico, but Tottenham Hotspur are ‘holding back’ the transfer and refusing to sanction a deal.

Spurs have changed their demands on Dragusin’s sale

It was previously reported that Roma and Tottenham were discussing a loan deal for Dragusin, along with an option or conditional obligation to buy.

However, this new update from Corriere dello Sport asserts that the Lilywhites are now only willing to consider a permanent sale of the Romanian.

Tottenham have made it clear to the Giallorossi that they would have to put €20m (£17.4m) on the table to land the centre-back.
