Tottenham without Bale for AC Milan clash confirms Redknapp

Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale will not face AC Milan on Tuesday, Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed.

The Spurs winger has not played since the 1-1 draw at Newcastle in January due to a back problem.

“I’d like to be able to scare Milan and say he’s going to be available, but he’s not,” he told Sky Sports News. “He’s struggling to get over this back injury.

“The specialists don’t see too much of a problem there. There’s nothing that should keep him out too long. They looked at Crouch’s back and he has an epidural and Gareth had similar problems. Crouch’s looked an awful lot worse.

“Gareth’s has taken a little bit longer to heal. We’ve got to make sure he’s right. He’s a young lad and he’s very important. He’s got a great future in front of him. He doesn’t feel he’s ready to play. We leave it to him. At Sunderland he worked with the fitness coaches on Sunday morning and when they started to push him a bit he couldn’t go on.

“We’ve got to take our time and make sure he’s right when he comes back.”

  1. This does not sound right to me i have had a bad back since i was 23 and if the specialist says it not serious he should have bean okay after six weeks and with intensive treatment less. So what is really going on i have my suspicions and the longer he is absence and Utd are being linked i will keep my suspicions Harry needs to seek medical advice. The new rules are noyt making any difference jst look at Chelsea they are making noises about buying Fabregas.. Why are Utd being linked they cant possible afford Bale yet they are tapping him ever couple of months by the papers and internet . The premiership is ignoring the new rules and even the paper journalist on Sky where saying clubs will ignore the rules an challenge them. Well they wont get in Champions league Chelsea will be shocked when Spurs take there place if the fail to cover there transfers.
