Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly battling it out with Manchester City over the signature of 17-year-old French youth international Adil Taoui.

Foot Mercato report that both Premier League clubs are keen on signing the Toulouse striker once the January transfer window opens.

The teenager is extremely highly rated in his native France.

They also claim that the youngster will be available for something in the region of £4.5 million, a very affordable price in this current climate.

The player is believed to be open to a move away from his current club.

Taoui has two goals for the U19 side this season, as well as three in eight games for the French U16 side.

He has yet to appear for the first team, which may be another positive for the Prem sides trying to lure him away.

He is currently tied down to a contract until 2021, and Toulouse are in no rush to sell the forward.
