Tottenham Hotspur have enquired about the availability of a young Brazilian defender, but they face competition from two other English clubs, who have also made advances towards the player.
Tottenham are expected to sign a left-back to offer competition to Destiny Udogie this summer, with Ben Davies’ contract at the club running out next month.
There is also some speculation over the future of the Italy international as Udogie is reportedly attracting interest from Man City, although some outlets have warned that Pep Guardiola’s men have to break the bank to sign the Spurs left-back.
Amidst this uncertainty, it has now emerged that Spurs have turned their attention to a South American full-back, who is making waves in the Brazilian top-flight.

Tottenham battling Man United and Bournemouth for left-back
According to a report in Brazilian outlet Trivela, Tottenham Hotspur are fans of Botafogo left-back Cuiabano, who has emerged as one of the best players in his position across the Brasileiro Serie A over the last two seasons.
However, Ange Postecoglou’s men have competition to contend with for the 22-year-old, who is also on the radar of Manchester United and Bournemouth ahead of the summer.
All three clubs have probed a deal for Cuiabano ahead of the summer by reaching out to the defender’s camp as well as to Botafogo.
In addition to the Premier League trio, clubs from Turkey and France have also made contact to seek information about the left-back’s situation.
How much will Spurs have to pay for Cuiabano?
Trivela say that even though the young Brazilian is on the radar of many European clubs, it is Tottenham, United and the Cherries who have made ‘more advanced enquiries’ by asking about Cuiabano’s salary demands and about his willingness to move to England.
Interestingly, it is revealed that Cuiabano’s agent recently travelled to Europe, which included a trip to England, but it is not known if he spoke to any of these clubs.
According to the outlet, Botafogo will demand €10m (£8.3m) to sell Cuiabano, which would make him very affordable for the three English sides.
