Tottenham become founding signatories for FA movement in English football

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that they have become a founding signatory of the Football Leadership Diversity Code, launched by The FA, which is aimed at making the English game more diverse and inclusive.

Many have questioned the lack of Black coaches in the English footballing pyramid over recent years.

In an effort to address the issue, the FA has developed the code in collaboration with club executives, players, coaches, HR directors, media and leaders across the game to ensure that English football better represents modern British society.

The main aim of the program is to embed better racial and gender diversity across both the men’s and women’s game, with the code focused on increasing equality of opportunity with hiring targets – rather than quotas.

This viewed as a starting point towards greater diversity in the game, with Spurs being one of 40 clubs in the country to have now signed on to the code.
