Tottenham boast six players in this Champions League team of the night

Tottenham Hotspur made their first step towards history on Tuesday night after defeating Man City 1-0 in the home leg of their Champions League quarter final.

Spurs have never made it to the semi finals of the competition, with their only other quarters appearance coming back in 2011 under Harry Redknapp.

The Lilywhites must now go to the home of the Premier League champions and avoid defeat to make club history.

In the first European night under the lights at the new stadium, Tottenham fed off the fan atmosphere and played City off the pitch for the majority of the game.

Despite conceding an early penalty, which was saved by Lloris, Tottenham earned a win and a clean sheet after Son smashed home a later winner.

After the sensational debut performance at the new ground, The Express named six Spurs players in the team of the night.

This XI was compromised of all Spurs, Man City, Liverpool, and Porto players.

The team was:

Lloris;

Milner, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Alexander-Arnold;

Winks, Henderson;

Sterling, Son, Eriksen;

Firmino
