Tottenham boss reveals Lloris return date

With Lloris in goal this season, Tottenham managed to win their first three Premier League games, keeping up with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool and their 100% records.

However, after Lloris picked up a thigh injury, Spurs have had a complete reverse in fortunes, losing three games on the bounce in all competitions.

This included two losses against Watford and Inter Milan, when Spurs actually led the game late on, as well as a dismal showing against Liverpool.

Michel Vorm has been deputising in Lloris’ place, but the Dutchman has come under fierce criticism between the sticks, especially for his woeful display against Liverpool.

Tottenham have been without Lloris for a number of weeks now, and fans will be pleading to have him back in time for the huge Champions League fixture against Barcelona on the horizon.

Spurs gaffer Pochettino has now shed some light on when Hugo will return to training: “It is a point that we still do not know. We hope [he will be playing] as soon as possible but we think the plan is still next week if everything goes to plan in training.

“I think he was under stress during the game against Manchester United. I think the injury and with the added stress maybe created that injury.

“The injury now is helping him to take time and think and be a little bit more relaxed. To compete after what happened was a massive stress for him.”
