Tottenham braced for Madrid interest in Poch, and this player is not surprised

Tottenham Hotspur showed yet again on Tuesday that they can compete with the big boys in the Champions League.

Spurs earned a draw away from home at the Camp Nou against the Spanish giants Barcelona, a point that saw them edge qualification into the knockout rounds.

This follows the scalps Tottenham took in last years’ competition, as they beat Borussia Dortmund, as well as battering Real Madrid 3-1 at Wembley.

The team also took a point away to Real, as well as earning a 2-2 draw away to Juventus.

Tottenham have proved that they belong over the past couple of years, and the bigger clubs will be paying plenty of attention to the name in the pot.

However, with these scalps comes greater and greater interest in the mastermind behind them, manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Guardian report that Tottenham are bracing themselves for more interest next summer from the European heavyweight.

Tottenham defender Danny Rose does not believe this is surprising in the slightest.

He said (The Guardian): “It’s no coincidence that every day you read Real Madrid want him or United want him,” Rose added. “It’s exactly what he deserves. What he has done here in the last four or five years has been amazing. He has transformed how others think of us outside the club and he has transformed how we think of ourselves and how we approach big games.”
