Tottenham captain calls for consistency

Tottenham Hotspur are currently enjoying one of their best ever starts to a Premier League campaign, taking nine wins from their opening 12 games.

Losses so far have come against Liverpool, Man City, and perhaps the surprise package of Watford.

Spurs are also still fighting on four fronts for silverware after Harry Kane’s heroics in the Champions League against PSV.

Pochettino has done a superb job in North London but will surely be desperate to add a trophy to his CV.

Tottenham and France captain Hugo Lloris has called for consistency to maintain this positive start to the season.

Many may see the irony in this as arguably Spurs’ least consistent first team player this season has been Lloris himself, but his point still stands.

Spurs’ great form sees them fourth in the Premier League, and they must go above and beyond anything they have ever done to challenge for the title this campaign.

That means cutting out mistakes, late conceded goals, and poor performances.

Hugo Lloris told SkySports: “I think the key is to stay as consistent as possible all through the season.

“At the moment in the league we are in a good position. It is maybe one of our best starts of the last few years.

“We are in a good position and we need to carry on in the same way and try to improve the way we play.

“We are still competitive and we will be ready for top four challenge.”
