Nottingham Forest star Murillo, who Tottenham Hotspur have been watching closely, is not expected to come cheap in the summer.

The threat of losing either Cristian Romero or Micky van de Ven in the summer looms large for Tottenham, who are struggling in the Premier League for the second season in a row.

In fact, some sources have claimed that Van de Ven’s desire to play regular Champions League football may force him to consider a summer exit.

The Lilywhites have now turned their attention to a proven Premier League centre-back to fill any hole that develops at centre-back this summer.

Nottingham Forest’s asking price for Tottenham target Murillo revealed

A few days ago, it emerged that Murillo was in Tottenham’s sights ahead of the summer, and this has now been backed up by a new outlet.

According to a report in RTI Esporte, Spurs are likely to land a central defender in the summer, amidst the uncertainty surrounding their senior stars.

Murillo is one of the players in the Lilywhites’ sights, with the North Londoners joined by both Chelsea and Manchester United in the race for the 23-year-old.

In fact, the interest of these three clubs in the Forest defender has now ‘intensified’. However, the East Midlands club have not deviated from their stance.

Forest maintain that they will only open talks over a deal for Murillo if they receive an offer worth at least €70m (£60m).

Forest under no pressure to sell Murillo

The Sao Paulo-born defender has become a real fan favourite at the City Ground with his consistent displays at the back.

However, while Forest’s current league situation may fuel speculation over Murillo’s future, there is ‘no indication’ that the club are under pressure to sell the centre-back.

In fact, it is revealed that after Palace drew a line in the sand with their valuation of the centre-back, no formal approaches have arrived for the player.
