Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Elche have completed a deal to take Paulo Gazzaniga on loan for the remainder of the season.
Gazzaniga arrived at Tottenham from Southampton in 2017 and failed to push Hugo Lloris for the number one jersey in North London.
While the Argentine did have a number of good games while deputising for the Spurs skipper, he was also guilty of silly errors including the penalty he conceded in the defeat to Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in December 2019.
With Joe Hart now acting as the Frenchman’s understudy along with the ability for Alfie Whiteman to provide cover if needed, Gazzaniga’s hopes of playing first team football became extremely limited.
Elche are second from bottom in the La Liga table at the present with 17 points from 19 matches and are at risk of being in a relegation battle for the remainder of the season.
Gazzaniga could come up against fellow Spurs loanee this weekend when they take on Villarreal.
Paulo Gazzaniga has joined La Liga side Elche on loan until the end of the season.
