Bergwijn was Amsterdam and academy-grade for the club until the age of 13, when he joined PSV Eindhoven.

The 25-year-old moved to north London from PSV in January 2020 in a deal worth £27million (BBC) and becomes the first high-profile departure of Antonio Conte’s squad this summer.

Bergwijn needs to be playing regular first-team football if he wishes to secure his place in the Dutch national side for this winter’s World Cup in Qatar, after he was overlooked for last summer’s Euro 2020 tournament.

Fans will remember his goal against Manchester City on his debut, but more memorable was his late brace at Leicester City to seal a dramatic 3-2 comeback.
