Tottenham confirm striker has made move to Scottish side

Tottenham Hotspur have revealed that Kazaiah Sterling has joined Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year-old striker joined Southend United in October on loan but only made twelve appearances in all competitions for the Shrimpers with his only goal coming in a 6-1 defeat at Colchester United in the EFL Trophy (transfermarkt).

A groin injury limited Sterling’s game time during his last month at Roots Hall and he returned to Tottenham at the beginning of January (FourFourTwo).

The forward will now make the trip north of the border and link up with David Hopkin’s side who are sixth in the Scottish Championship and host second-placed Raith at the weekend.

Sterling appeared just eight times during a half-season stint at Sunderland at the beginning of last season before joining Doncaster Rovers, where he appeared in four games in all competitions (transfermarkt).

At 22, Sterling needs to have a prolific spell at Greenock and steer clear of injury if he is to prove that he can cut it at a certain level of professional football.

His spells at Sunderland, Doncaster and Southend have all been disappointing, hopefully he can have better success in the second tier of Scottish football.
