Tottenham confirm that player has gone out on loan to another English club

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Cameron Carter-Vickers has joined Stoke City on loan until the end of the 2019/20 season.

This comes after the USA international was not used by Pochettino throughout pre-season, despite handing minutes to other academy graduates.

Spurs currently boast the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez, Juan Foyth, and Japhet Tanganga in the centre of defence. The likes of Ben Davies and Eric Dier can also cover at the back.

Tanganga in particular was impressive during Spurs’ pre-season tour and his performances may have edged Carter-Vickers out the door.

Carter-Vickers is still only 21 though and will still have a chance to impress Pochettino out on loan. This comes after three separate loan spells at Sheffield United, Ipswitch Town, and Swansea City over the past two years.

He has only made four senior appearances for Spurs, but clocked up a total of 68 across those three loan periods (Wikipedia).
