Tottenham confirm two goalkeepers have signed first professional contracts

Tottenham have announced youth goalkeepers Adam Hayton and Aaron Maguire have both signed their first respective professional contracts with the club.

The teenage pair are expected to move up to the Spurs Under-21 squad in preparation of the start of the new season.

Hayton, 18, featured predominantly for the Under-18 side last term, making 10 appearances in the U18 Premier League (Transfermarkt).

He also spent some time with the reserve squad during their Premier League 2 campaign, featuring on the bench on five occasions.

Meanwhile, Maguire played seven games for the Under-18s as well as featuring in the Under-17 Premier League Cup final (Transfermarkt).

The 17-year-old has been capped at youth level by both England and the Republic of Ireland, although he represented The Boys in Green in a friendly against Iceland earlier this year.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is always good to see youth players be rewarded with their first professional contracts as it shows the club has a lot of faith in them to progress going forward.

Spurs look to be trying to future-proof the goalkeeper side of their squad with these two moves and hopefully they are able to keep progressing at a higher level next season.
