Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that academy winger Dilan Markanday has signed a new contract that runs until 2022.
Markanday, a left-footed wide player that prefers cutting in from the right, is known for his creativity on the ball and his ability to beat players.
He was a key player in the Under-18s’ brilliant campaign 2018/19 campaign when they finished runners up, with the winger playing 21 of the 22 league games that season and netting 11 times (Tottenhamhotspur.com).
The 19-year-old also has the distinction of scoring in the first-ever football match held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when Spurs Under-18s beat Southampton 3-1 in a test event at the venue.
The striker has since graduated to the Under-23s, having featured nine times for Wayne Burnett’s side this season and scoring once (transfermarkt.com).
Markanday has not had a spell out on loan just yet but the club have rewarded his performances over the last couple of years by handing the youngster a new deal.

I would not be surprised if Markanday is now loaned out to a League One or League Two club before the end of the month, now that he has committed his future to Tottenham until 2022.
