Tottenham could be without star in Barcelona Champions League tie

Tottenham will be looking to bounce back in the Champions League after heartbreak against Inter Milan in game week one.

Spurs led the tie with only five minutes remaining, but walked away with no points after a late Milan fight back.

Now Pochettino’s men face a home match against Spanish giants Barcelona, but they could be without a key man in their line up.

Christian Eriksen picked up an abdomen injury in the game against Brighton, and is unavailable against Huddersfield this weekend.

Tottenham may also be without captain and keeper Hugo Lloris, as he fights to be ready for games this week.

Erik Lamela has now scored 5 goals in 5 games, but Tottenham will be hoping to have their star creator Eriksen back in contention for perhaps their biggest game of the season.

Pochettino has revealed in his press conference that Eriksen is in contention to face Barca, but nothing is guaranteed.

The Independent reports Pochettino said: “After the game against Brighton he started to feel a small problem in his abdominal.

“I think it’s a small thing. I hope for next week he will be available again. For Barcelona? I hope yes.”

Should Tottenham start Eriksen against Barcelona, or has his form not warranted it?
