Tottenham Hotspur may not have to pay as much for one of their top winger targets as previously thought.
The expectation among many is that Spurs will spend big money in January as Thomas Frank continues rebuilding the Lilywhites’ squad.
It has been widely reported over recent days by reputed journalists like Fabrizio Romano that RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande is one of the names at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist.
However, Spurs are competing with some of Europe’s biggest clubs for Diomande, and it was thus claimed that Leipzig will charge top dollar.

Tottenham can sign Yan Diomande at a discount
It was previously claimed that Leipzig are demanding that Diomande’s £87m be met by interested clubs.
However, Sky Sports reporter Danyal Khan has now taken to social media to claim that Leipzig would accept a lower price for the teenager.
He suggested that the Bundesliga club would be willing to sell the Ivory Coast international for around £52m-£61m in January.
Khan wrote on X about Diomande: “There have been reports Leipzig value him at £87m (€100m) but understand player’s value understood to be more in the region of £52m-£61m (€60m-€70m).”
Who are the other wide-forwards on Spurs’ radar?
It emerged two weeks ago that Tottenham may turn their attention to Maghnes Akliouche, with the club’s scouts being impressed by the Monaco man’s performances this term.
Meanwhile, Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz has been described as Spurs’ dream signing, with the Turkish attacker currently in a contract dispute with the Bianconeri.
According to various sources, Tottenham are also eyeing moves for Man City duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush, with the Lilywhites hoping they would be available for sale once Antoine Semenyo completes a move to the Etihad Stadium.
