The Telegraph have now revealed that the Swede was one of Nottingham Forest’s priority midfield targets in the summer.
The outlet says that Oliver Glasner’s men had a £38m offer for Bergvall rejected by Tottenham, who wanted ‘at least £50m’ for the youngster.
The report confirmed that the Spurs star also attracted interest from Chelsea and Newcastle United, with Forest deciding to remain calm.

Spurs may have a big challenge keeping two young starlets in January
There is now huge competition for places in the Spurs midfield, with Bergvall, Sandro Tonali, Rodrigo Bentancur, Mateus Fernandes, and Archie Gray seemingly competing for just two spots.
Bentancur has shown at the start of the season why he is indispensable to the Tottenham midfield, and one would expect both Tonali and Fernandes to play a lot, given how much the club have invested in the pair.
With no European football this season, Bergvall and Gray may both struggle to get sufficient minutes. Spurs may face a challenge keeping the two midfield starlets in January as both players are likely to attract a lot of interest.
