Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for a former Manchester City starlet as Guglielmo Vicario’s time at the club appears set to run out.

Whether Tottenham stay up or go down, one would expect significant changes to the squad this summer, as Roberto De Zerbi gets set to put his own imprint on the Spurs side in his first transfer window at the club.

A change looks likely in goal, with Inter Milan reportedly holding positive talks with Vicario regarding a summer switch to the San Siro.

Several Premier League goalkeepers have been mooted as targets for Tottenham over recent months, and a new update has now suggested that the Lilywhites are also fans of a Championship youngster.

Tottenham in four-horse race to land Pierce Charles

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur are among the Premier League sides interested in Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Pierce Charles.

The Manchester City academy graduate has established himself as the Owls’ number one, and his fine form between the sticks this season has captured the attention of Spurs, Leeds, and Newcastle.

All three clubs are monitoring Charles ahead of the summer, but it is revealed that the trio have now been joined in the race by Pep Guardiola’s men.

City are actively assessing options to sign a backup to Gianluigi Donnarumma, and they are considering bringing the 20-year-old back to the club.

Why City’s interest in Charles may be good news for Spurs

As Spurs Web previously covered, City’s interest in Charles comes amid Tottenham’s rumoured pursuit of James Trafford.

The North Londoners will be hoping that the Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper’s potential arrival at the Etihad may pave the way for the England international to complete a move to N17.

However, it has been reported that Tottenham may face competition from Aston Villa and Newcastle for Trafford’s signature.
