BBC Sport reporter Nizaar Kinsella has now revealed that Spurs need to avoid losing two of their last five league games to avoid recording their most-ever defeats in a single league campaign.
They need eight more points to surpass their lowest ever points tally in the Premier League era, which stands at 44.
Further, the Lilywhites have already recorded their most losses at home in a 38-game season, but if they lose their two remaining home games against Crystal Palace and Brighton, they will even surpass their record for the most home defeats in a 44-game season.

Even if Postecoglou becomes the first Tottenham manager to win a trophy since 2008, his league record is so unbelievably poor that it would be difficult for the club to entertain keeping him at the club beyond the summer.
