Tottenham decide to recall Troy Parrott and send him to a different club on loan

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Troy Parrot has been recalled from Millwall and subsequently joined Ipswich Town on loan until the end of the season.

Parrott joined Millwall on a season-long loan deal in the summer but his spell at the Den did not go according to plan.

A series of injury problems put the 18-year-old out of action for the first few months of the campaign and he failed to establish himself as a regular starter for Gary Rowett’s side since regaining his fitness.

The teenager did not manage a single goal for the Lions in 14 appearances across all competitions for the Lions.

The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick reported this morning that Parrott’s time at the Den was about to come to a premature end and Spurs were in talks with Ipswich over another loan deal.

Tottenham have now confirmed that the youngster will spend the rest of the season at the League One club.

The point of sending Parrott out on loan was to ensure that he gets game time under his belt and that did not seem to be the case at Millwall.

Dropping down to League One should help the youngster get more minutes and make an impact. If he does impress at Ipswich, Spurs might loan him out to a Championship club again next season.
