Tottenham defender is now the number one target for English club this summer

Leeds United have now made Joe Rodon their number one priority in the transfer market this summer, as the Tottenham defender continues to impress on loan, and there is possibly a clause in his deal which can make that happen.

Rodon has been showered with praise all season during his loan spell with Leeds, and is on the brink of helping the club gain promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

It is thought the Welshman has no future at Tottenham, with reports claiming the Lilywhites have already told Rodon he can leave the club this summer (HITC).

Leeds have made it very clear they want to make Rodon’s stay there permanent, and the player himself is believed to be eager to stay put if Daniel Farke’s side can make it back to the top flight this season (Football Insider).

Joe Rodon is top of the shopping list for Leeds

Now, according to Peter O’Rourke on the Inside Track podcast, the Yorkshire club are so keen to keep hold of Rodon that they have made him their top target for the summer window.

He said: “I think the priority for Leeds will be to secure some of those loan signings, Joe Rodon being the number one priority, to make that deal permanent, if they do go up.”

And, O’Rourke offered a new insight into the situation regarding a possible deal, adding: “I think there is an option in his contract to do that if they want to, especially if they get promoted.”

The only way Joe Rodon won’t be signing for Leeds permanently is if they don’t get promoted. That race for promotion is tight, but I reckon Leeds can do it, but either way, we will be seeing Rodon back in the Premier League next season, I’m sure.
