Tottenham defender out until November

According to Belgian outlet HLN, Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen will not be fit and available again until November.

Jan went off injured against Huddersfield last weekend, and missed the huge crunch game against Barcelona on Wednesday.

It now appears the 31-year-old will be missing many more games, with a run of four in eight days coming up at the end of this month.

The defender is said to be struggling with a hamstring injury, and won’t appear for the club until November at least.

This means Vertonghen will miss games against PSV and Manchester City in a pivotal part of the season for Spurs.

The Belgian has been a main-stay in that back four for Tottenham since his arrival in 2012.

He joins the likes of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele, Serge Aurier, Michel Vorm, Vincent Janssen and Luke Amos in the Spurs injury room.

Tottenham will be hoping to get Jan on his feet as soon as possible.
