Tottenham defender set to undergo surgery

Tottenham Hotspur are currently preparing for the biggest game in the club’s history ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final against Liverpool.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will today travel to Madrid to step up their preparations for the match at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

A number of players have returned to training since the end of the Premier League season including Harry Kane, Jan Vertonghen and Harry Winks.

However, left-back Ben Davies is carrying an injury into the final and will undergo surgery after the match which marks the end of Tottenham’s season.

According to the BBC, Davies has been feeling pain due to a hernia for the vast majority of the season and must go under the knife to rectify the problem.

News of Davies’ fitness will surely mean that Danny Rose’s chances of starting the match against Liverpool have increased further with many fans already consider the England international as first choice.

Davies will miss Wales’ two Euro 2020 qualifiers against Croatia on June 8th and the match at Hungary three days later.

Opinion

Danny Rose is our choice to start the match regardless of Davies’ injury woes. Rose offers more in attack and has the pace to be able to manage to cope with Liverpool’s attacking threat down the flank.
