Tottenham defender wanted by Marseille in shock transfer twist

According to reports in The Mirror, French club Marseille are interested in signing Tottenham left-back Danny Rose before the transfer window slams shut on August 31.

The Spurs star had previously been linked with a £50m move to giants PSG, but it is thought that he may now be available for as little as £22m.

Tottenham became the first club ever to fail to make a single summer signing this year, however, they do already have Kyle Walker-Peters at the club, who has covered the left-back position numerous times for England youth teams.

After a series of injuries and fall outs, it appears that the 28-year-old Danny Rose is no longer in Pochettino’s plans, and the Spurs manager is said to be happy for him to go out on loan, or on a permanent deal.

Do you think that Spurs should be selling Rose? And how much would you want for him?

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Oh come off it! Ridiculous gossip.
    1. Rose is needed to alternate with Davies. He’s a world class ‘England’ full back and will play a huge
    part in Tottenham’s season.
    2. You think that Levy/Poch will let him sell for £22m? When in this current market his worth is circa £50m?? Please.
He won’t go on loan (that would be bloody stupid from Spurs’ point of view) so a concrete offer would have
to come in for £50m. And even then, we should seriously consider what would happen if Davies got injured, needed resting, got suspended or so on. It would affect the balance of the whole team if Rose went now.
Selling Walker for £50m did us no good last season! It strengthened our main rival and it weakened us, despite spending nearly half that amount on Aurier. We have no solid up and coming replacement for either Davies or Rose (KWP is a right back) and if Rose goes before we’ve properly sourced or developed a replacement (ie before next summer) then we’ll have seriously shot ourselves in the foot again, as we did last year! ASKIMET THIS IS NOT SPAM! I JUST PREFER A LITTLE PRIVACY IN WHAT’S SHARED.
