A German journalist has now revealed the latest on Luka Vuskovic’s future, as top clubs around Europe continue to eye a move for the Tottenham centre-back.

Vuskovic’s impressive performances have brought him to the attention of some of the biggest clubs in Europe ahead of the summer window.

It was previously reported that Spurs are worried that the centre-back would leave this summer without making a single appearance for them, particularly as their place in the Premier League was in doubt next season.

However, with Tottenham now in a much stronger position to avoid relegation, it emerged a few days ago that the Lilywhites are ready to offer the teenage defender a new bumper contract.

Tottenham desperate to tie down Luka Vuskovic amid Barcelona talks

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has taken to social media to back up reports of Spurs intending to offer the Croat a big pay rise.

He adds that the North Londoners are ‘desperate’ to keep Vuskovic at the club, but his future remains open. Super agent Pini Zahavi is allegedly holding talks with Barcelona over a summer deal for the Tottenham youngster.

Plettenberg wrote on X: “Tottenham are desperate to keep Luka Vuskovic next season. He is in line for a massive salary increase. However, the market is still being explored. Top clubs are interested in him. Future open. A second loan to Hamburger SV is currently unlikely. Pini Zahavi is also holding talks with FC Barcelona about Vuskovic these days.”

Can Roberto De Zerbi convince Vuskovic to be part of the Spurs project?

Several Tottenham players have admitted that they are loving working with De Zerbi, who has managed to instil confidence and belief in the squad.

The Lilywhites now have their fate in their own hands, but they still have work to do to secure their place in the Premier League.

If they do manage to stay up, it will be interesting to see if De Zerbi manages to convince Vuskovic to be part of what could be an exciting project at N17.
