The Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy is considering an interesting solution as they look for temporary managerial options for the final seven games of the season.

According to various reports, Spurs see the international break as the ideal time to make a managerial change after Tudor has lost four and drawn one of his five league games in charge.

Those results have left the club just a point above the drop zone, with the Lilywhites only having seven games left to avoid disaster.

Tottenham could appoint a proven coach with a ‘fan favourite’ assistant

The Times have now revealed that Spurs have considered the idea of appointing a permanent head coach right now rather than waiting until the end of the season.

Tottenham have even contacted some of their targets regarding that possibility, but if a permanent appointment proves out of reach right now, they are ready to turn to another solution.

The report claims that the Spurs leadership has discussed the possibility of bringing in a proven active coach as an interim boss and pairing him alongside a fan favourite, who has an affiliation with the club.

One would expect that to get the supporters onside, but it remains to be seen if such a move arrests the team’s apparent slide down to the Championship.

Spurs eyeing move for former defender and assistant coach

According to a recent update, Tottenham are considering turning to Chris Hughton, who remains a fan favourite at the club, having had a distinguished playing career at N17.

Hughton also served as Martin Jol’s assistant at White Hart Lane, and has been tasked with a caretaker role at the club before, although the last time that happened was nearly two decades ago.

The 67-year-old, who has vast experience in the Premier League, most recently served as head coach of Ghana from 2023 to 2024.
