Tottenham director addresses speculation regarding next manager search

Fabio Paratici has said that Tottenham are not paying any attention to the speculation regarding their next managerial appointment, insisting that the club are focused on giving Crsitian Stellini and Ryan Mason the tools to finish the campaign strongly.

There has been plenty written over the last few weeks regarding Tottenham’s managerial search, with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Roberto De Zerbi, Thomas Frank, Oliver Glasner, Marco Silva and several others being mooted as potential candidates (The Athletic).

Some sources have indicated that Spurs are after a young, up-and-coming manager who would build a long-term project at the club on the back of the Conte and Jose Mourinho appointments backfiring over recent years (Gary Jacob – beIN SPORTS).

Over the last few days, some publications have suggested that Julian Nageslmann is now the Lilywhites’ top target after he parted ways with Bayern Munich (Football Insider).

However, Paratici has now refused to weigh in on the club’s search for a new head coach.

When asked about the vacancy and the plans for next season, the Spurs managing director of football told the club’s official website: “We have to be everyone focussed on the last part of the season.

“We do not speak about other coaches or follow the speculation in the media because it is just speculation.

“We are focussed, we are now concentrating on helping Cristian and helping the staff, Ryan, the players.

“I think, today, we have to be focussed on our squad, in our manager because it is an important moment.”

Ironically, Paratici may not even be involved in the search for Tottenham’s next manager anymore, given that his 30-month footballing ban has been extended worldwide.

He may have to depart Spurs unless he successfully appeals (Guardian).

Paratici is obviously going to keep his cards close to his chest and not going to reveal any details about the managerial search publicly.

However, I have no doubt that the club would have already begun contacting potential candidates as they would not want a repeat of what happened in the summer of 2021.
