The referee for the big Premier League clash between Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday has been confirmed.
Spurs are running out of matches to save their season, as they currently sit two points adrift of 17th place with four games to go.
Every game will be seen as a must-win for Roberto De Zerbi’s men, who travel to Villa Park to take on a side which will be in Europa League semi-final action on Thursday.
Tottenham fans will be hoping that Unai Emery’s side will have half an eye on progressing to the final and take their eye off the ball in the Premier League, given that the Villans look well placed to secure Champions League qualification.

Sam Barrott will be the referee for Aston Villa v Tottenham
The Premier League have confirmed that Sam Barrott will take charge of the big clash at Villa Park this Sunday. James Mainwaring and Wade Smith have been named as his assistants.
Paul Tierney will be the fourth official, and he may have plenty on his hands, given De Zerbi’s tendency to be animated and come out of his area. Tony Harrington will be the VAR for the game, and he will be assisted by Nick Hopton.
According to Transfermarkt, Barrott has only overseen five matches involving Tottenham, with the Lilywhites winning two, drawing two and losing the other. He has handed 12 yellow cards to Spurs players in those clashes but has not brandished a red.

Spurs fans have been left frustrated with refereeing decisions
The Tottenham supporters’ frustrations have grown as the number of big decisions have gone against their side over recent weeks.
Just last week, the Premier League Key Match Incidents (KMI) panel admitted that Brian Brobbey should have been sent off during Sundeland’s 1-0 win over Spurs after pushing Cristian Romero onto the path of the onrushing Antonin Kinsky.
Some Spurs fans have even questioned if the Premier League wants to see the Lilywhites go down, given the consistent pattern of 50-50 calls going against their side over recent weeks.
