Tottenham Hotspur have considered offering a unique contract to Roberto De Zerbi in an effort to bring the Italian through the door immediately.

It has been widely reported that De Zerbi is Tottenham’s dream permanent managerial target, and the Lilywhites would have initially hoped they had until the summer to strike an agreement with the Italian.

However, Spurs may be forced into an early managerial change, with reports indicating that Igor Tudor may be on his way out of Tottenham after failing to win any of his five Premier League games in charge.

Over the last 24 hours, reports have indicated that De Zerbi is open to taking charge of Spurs in the summer, but only if they stay in the Premier League.

Tottenham come up with plan to hire Roberto De Zerbi right now

The Times have now revealed that Spurs have revisited the idea of appointing a permanent head coach immediately instead of waiting until the end of the season.

De Zerbi’s immediate hiring has been discussed, with the club even considering offering the former Brighton boss a unique contract, which has a release clause in the event that Tottenham are relegated.

However, it is revealed that there are reservations at the North London club over offering the 46-year-old that type of contract.

Tottenham’s preferred route initially was to wait until the end of the season to confirm a permanent appointment as the club expects more managers to be available in the summer.

Two other managers are also leading contenders for Spurs job

The Times say that apart from the ex-Marseille boss, the two other names in the frame to take over at Tottenham in the summer are Mauricio Pochettino and Andoni Iraola.

However, it is pointed out that Pochettino, whose contract with the USA ends after the World Cup, is also on the radar of Real Madrid.

Additionally, the outlet reveals that Iraola will not make a final decision on his future until the end of the season.
