Tottenham duo make WhoScored Team of the Week with 8.06 and 8.94/10 ratings

Two Tottenham players have made it into WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Week after their impressive displays at Everton.

Tottenham showed once again on Sunday that they are an extremely hard side to break down, with the Lilywhites now boasting the joint-second best defensive record across the Premier League this season.

Spurs also have the best away record in the division, having picked up 13 points from a possible 15 on the road and conceding just three goals across those matches.

The fact that they kept a clean sheet without their captain, Cristian Romero, is even more impressive, and two Tottenham stars have made it into WhoScored’s Team of the Week on the back of their efforts.

Tottenham centre-backs make it into WhoScored’s Team of the Week

Kevin Danso had 19 clearances, three ball recoveries and two blocks against Everton, proving an unpassable wall for Spurs.

Micky van de Ven also posted impressive defensive numbers, and he also came up with vital contributions at the other end of the pitch, scoring the game’s opening two goals.

Unsurprisingly, the pair have both been named in WhoScored’s Team of the Week, with Van de Ven being given a performance rating of 8.94 and Danso 8.06.

Kevin Danso has been getting plenty of praise

The Austrian has stepped up impressively in the absence of Romero, delivering three solid displays against Aston Villa, Monaco and Everton.

Thomas Frank has admitted that every manager would love a player like Danso in their squad, speaking very highly of the 27-year-old’s leadership and character.

Following his display against Everton, some pundits are puzzled as to how Tottenham signed a player of Danso’s quality for just £20m, given the inflated nature of the current market.
