Tottenham duo to miss embley clash with Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur look to be without two crucial first team stars for their top of the table clash with Liverpool this weekend.

Hugo Lloris, who just received his sentence for drink driving last month, is said to now be out for several weeks, despite fighting to make it back for the Liverpool game.

Michel Vorm is expected to continue deputising in the Frenchman’s absence.

Dele Alli was forced to withdraw from the England squad last week, after suffering a minor muscle strain in their loss to Spain.

The young midfielder is said to have picked up the injury 20 minutes into the game, but still played on for the full 90.

While Dele’s injury isn’t thought to be serious at all, it is unlikely that he will be able to play on Saturday.

Returning stars Heung-Min Son and Erik Lamela are the most likely contenders to replace the injured Alli, with Harry Winks also available in a deeper lying position.

Pochettino had this to say on the injuries: “[Dele] Alli is a bit unlucky, he suffered a small injury after 20 minutes against Spain (last weekend).

“Disappointed, because we’re going to miss him for this game, and possibly Inter Milan in the Champions League, but it is not a big issue.

“Hugo Lloris will have another scan to see the evolution of his injury.

“Hopefully, it will be OK and he will be available again soon, like Dele.”
