Tottenham emerge as ‘most plausible’ destination for 62-year-old claims journalist

Tottenham Hotspur could be the most ‘plausible’ destination should Maurizio Sarri decided on a return to England, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist Carlo Laudisa.

Sarri has been out of work since last summer when he was sacked by Juventus despite having led the Old Lady to the Serie A title.

In the previous season, the 62-year-old left Chelsea despite guiding them to a place in the Champions League having won the Europa League.

Tottenham dismissed Jose Mourinho last month with the club in seventh place in the Premier League table and having been knocked out of the Europa League with Ryan Mason appointed as interim head coach until the end of the season.

Arsenal have also emerged as a potential destination for Sarri, with the Emirates outfit having shortlisted the Italian as a replacement for Mikel Arteta who saw his side’s Europa League hopes ended by Villarreal at the semi-final stage (Express).

“Sarri could go to England,” Laudisa told Radio Punto Nuovo, as relayed by Tutto Napoli.

“The Tottenham solution being the most plausible, but the Arsenal bench could also become free, as Arteta has missed all the Gunners’ season goals.”
