Tottenham expected to copy Arsenal blueprint to achieve success with Thomas Frank

Journalist Dean Jones has revealed whether Thomas Frank’s Tottenham job is under any serious threat at the moment.

The 52-year-old has found out over the last few weeks just how different the challenge at a club like Tottenham is compared to Brentford.

It feels like the media are now going for Frank, who some pundits have already written off at Spurs, suggesting that he has lost the dressing room.

Frank has confidently maintained that things will turn around at Tottenham, dismissing the idea that he is too negative in his approach.

Tottenham want to follow Mikel Arteta example with Thomas Frank

Journalist Dean Jones has suggested that the Lilywhites are taking a leaf out of the book of their North London rivals Arsenal with the way they backed Mikel Arteta during his early struggles.

He suggested that Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to do the same with Frank and claimed that the Dane is not running the risk of being sacked.

Jones told TEAMtalk: “I do not get the impression Spurs are about to panic about the recent results to the extent it’s going to cost the manager his job.

“There is no doubt he has experienced a tough month, but it is moments like this when Spurs bosses have to remain strong and believe in the reasons they hired him for the long-term.

“We should not forget that Mikel Arteta suffered some very tough times at Arsenal in order to get to the place they are now in, so patience can pay off. I am expecting Tottenham to show that similar level of faith in Frank.”

Next few weeks will be an acid test for Frank

Jones pointed out that Tottenham now have key players returning from injury over the coming weeks and backed the club to add to their squad in January.

He claimed that the easier fixture list that Spurs now have will give Frank an opportunity to get some points on the board.

The journalist added: “The atmosphere around what has happened this week is a test, but they have a decent run of games now on paper that should ease the anxiety levels a bit.

“Also, they’ll have players returning from injury and a couple of changes in the January transfer window that are going to be helpful. Obviously, if all of that doesn’t go to plan, then it will be a new level of discomfort to discuss, but for now, I am told the boss is not under threat.”
