Tottenham Hotspur are locked in a transfer battle for River Plate star Lautaro Rivero, and they have now found out how much they have to pay to land the centre-back.
Spurs have already secured one Argentine international centre-back in Marcos Senesi, and they could look to add another to their squad this summer.
Lautaro Rivero has been on Tottenham’s radar since last summer, with the 22-year-old emerging as one of the best young central defenders in South American football over the last couple of years.
The River Plate star has missed out on the Argentina’s 26-man squad for their World Cup defence, but he could have a busy summer.

Tottenham battling two European clubs for Lautaro Rivero
According to La Pagina Millonaria, Spurs have reignited their interest in the 22-year-old defender this summer.
The Lilywhites are closely monitoring Rivero’s situation, but they have also been joined by two other Serie A clubs in the race.
Udinese and Roma have also made checks on the River Plate star and are considering offering him a route to Europe ahead of next season.
The update adds that Rivero has also been approached by Mexican side Tigres, but those close to the player have said that his preferred next step would be a switch to Europe.
River Plate’s valuation of Spurs target Rivero revealed
La Pagina Millonaria point out that River Plate are in a strong negotiating position, with the defender signing a new deal earlier this year that runs to December 2029.
Rivero’s new deal includes a mammoth release clause of €100m (£86.5m), but that is not viewed as a realistic transfer figure for the youngster.
It is revealed that the Argentine giants are seeking a fee between €7m and €10m (£6m-£8.7m) for the 22-year-old this summer.
