Tottenham express ‘serious’ interest in Juventus forward who only joined in the summer

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly plotting to re-ignite their interest in a striker, whose signature they were beaten to by an Italian club in the summer.

The number nine role has been a problem area for Thomas Frank this season. Dominic Solanke has hardly kicked a ball, while neither Richarlison nor Mathys Tel have made their position their own.

Tottenham’s deadline day loan signing, Randal Kolo Muani, has also been out with a dead leg and only made his first Premier League start for the Lilywhites against Everton on Sunday.

Before they signed Kolo Munai, Spurs were rumoured to be eyeing the signing of a prolific 25-year-old striker on a free transfer, but it was Juventus who won the race for the player.

Tottenham want Jonathan David just six months after his Juventus transfer

The player in question is Jonathan David, who has struggled to make an impact since his switch to the Bianconeri, and Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) claim that Tottenham could come calling for him in January.

David has made 10 appearances across all competitions for Juve and has only found the back of the net once, and that goal came in the club’s opening day win over Parma.

It is revealed that the Old Lady have not been satisfied with the Canadian international’s output and could be open to making a quick profit on him in January.

The outlet says that, amidst the uncertainty over the future of David at the Allianz Stadium, both Tottenham and Bayern Munich have expressed a ‘serious’ interest in the former Lille man.

Spurs are also eyeing another Juventus striker

David is not the only Juve striker that the Lilywhites have their eye on, with several reports stating that Tottenham are the front-runners to land Dusan Vlahovic in January.

The Serbian international, whose current deal runs out next summer, is thought to be looking for an exit route from Turin, and Spurs may offer that opportunity.

Even though other clubs also want the 25-year-old, it has been alleged that Fabio Paratici’s return to Tottenham gives them an advantage over others in the race for Vlahovic.
