Tottenham eye audacious move for Euros winner who earns £350,000 per week

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for a player who has emerged as one of the best wingers in La Liga over recent years.

Spurs have reportedly prepared a long list of wingers as targets for this month, with the Lilywhites ready to be flexible regarding their top targets.

That perhaps comes down to the North London club’s desperation to add a top-class winger to their squad, which has become even more pressing after the sale of Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace.

According to a new update, a Spaniard, who has been linked with a move to N17 in the past, is also on the club’s January list.

Tottenham consider a move for Atletico Bilbao star Nico Williams

TEAMtalk have now claimed that Atletico Bilbao superstar Nico Williams is also among the potential targets identified by Thomas Frank’s side.

The 23-year-old has emerged as one of the most consistent wingers in La Liga over the past few years and has become an important part of Spain’s international set-up.

Williams, who has scored three goals and picked up three assists this term in 15 league outings, is tied down to an extremely long-term contract, with his current deal running until 2035.

Spurs will have to change their policy to land Williams

GiveMeSport have relayed this information from TEAMtalk, and they suggest that one factor could make a deal for the Bilbao star challenging to complete for the Lilywhites.

It is revealed that the winger is currently on a £350,000 per week at San Mames, which is considerably higher than what any player at Tottenham Hotspur earns.

It has been reported that the new Spurs leadership have decided to remove the strict wage cap instituted by Daniel Levy, which could potentially pave the way for the deal.
