Tottenham eye up £35m Harry Kane back up

Tottenham’s squad has been dwindling over the past few weeks as more and more first team players pick up knocks and injuries.

Currently Spurs have Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Luke Amos, and Vincent Janssen out injured.

Danny Rose also pulled out of the England squad this week through injury as he picked up a groin strain.

One man who Tottenham simply cannot afford to see in the injury room is star striker Harry Kane, as the club have no real back up for the goal machine.

Fernando Llorente is available on the bench, but he doesn’t offer the same threat as the England captain.

Tottenham became the first Premier League club ever not to sign a single player in the summer transfer window, but they could be looking to rectify their dwindling squad come January.

According to L’Est Republican, and reported by TeamTalk, Spurs have already made contact with Beijing Guoan over the signing of their striker Cedric Bakambu.

Bakambu has scored 19 in 23 appearances for the club, as well as nine in 15 starts for Villarreal before that.

He is tipped to be worth £35m, could he be the solution to Spurs’ striker problem?
