Tottenham eye West Ham raid in back-to-back transfer windows with £53m bid planned

Tottenham Hotspur are now plotting a move for a West Ham United star in January and are prepared to make a big offer for his services.

Back in the summer, Mohammed Kudus became the first player to move from West Ham to Tottenham since 2011, and the winger has been outstanding since walking through the door at N17.

The £55m that Spurs paid for Kudus appears a massive bargain, given that the 25-year-old Tottenham man’s numbers have been up there with the best.

It has now emerged that the North London club are looking to raid their rivals for another one of their best players.

Tottenham prepared to launch a big offer for Jarrod Bowen

According to Fichajes, Spurs now have West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen in their sights for the January window.

The Hammers are currently mired in a relegation battle, with Nuno Espirito Santo being unable to turn around the club’s fortunes after replacing Graham Potter.

It is revealed that Bowen is thus considering his future at the London Stadium, with Tottenham Hotspur emerging as a ‘clear candidate’ to secure his services.

The outlet claims that the Lilywhites are ready to launch an offer of €60m (£52.8m) for the 28-year-old when the transfer window reopens in January.

Why Spurs may struggle to land Bowen

The West Ham owners are very unpopular with their fans, with protests raging at the club almost every week.

The fact that they sold Kudus to Spurs for just £55m in the summer did not help their popularity, and they would be aware of the kind of backlash they would face if Bowen is also sold to Tottenham.

The England international will not be short of suitors if he decides to leave the Hammers, and Spurs are the last club that the East London side would want to sell him to.
