Tottenham eyeing up loan move for former West Ham midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is eyeing up a loan deal for Inter Milan’s Joao Mario, reports the Daily Mirror.

It is believed both Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy have been impressed by the midfielder and wish to make a late move.

Mario featured in the Premier League last season for Spurs’ London rivals West Ham, making 13 appearances in the league.

Reports suggest the Portuguese midfielder enjoyed his stint in London and is keen on a return to the English capital.

The 25-year-old netted on two occasions during his time at the Hammers but the club now based at the London Stadium failed to secure his services on a permanent contract.

Today, Spurs were dealt a major blow in their race to sign Jack Grealish when the Aston Villa officials announced he was not for sale.

With a matter of hours to go until the transfer window shuts, should Spurs make a move for this former Hammer?
