Tottenham face fresh competition from London rivals to sign Leroy Sane

Tottenham Hotspur have just learned that they have competition from very close to home for Leroy Sane as the Bayern Munich winger’s future continues to be in the air, with his contract running out next month.

It broke earlier this week that Spurs were looking to land Sane on a free transfer after the winger’s contract negotiations with Bayern hit a stumbling block.

According to updates from Germany, Tottenham are pushing the hardest to sign Sane as the former Manchester City man is considering cutting his ties with the Bavarian club.

The same report claimed that the 29-year-old would be attracted by a move to Spurs after they secured qualification to the Champions League and would welcome the idea of moving to London.

Arsenal and Tottenham are in the race to sign Leroy Sane

However, The Times have now revealed that Spurs are not the only capital club vying for the Bayern Munich man, with their fierce rivals, Arsenal, also turning their sights to Sane.

It is revealed that the Gunners are now showing ‘strong interest’ in the German international after they closed in on a deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Martín Zubimendi.

The outlet points out that Mikel Arteta worked with Sane at Manchester City and the Spaniard is thought to be the one pushing for a reunion with the winger at the Emirates.

Sane’s agent meets with Bayern Munich

It was reported by Florian Plettenberg on Wednesday, Sane’s agent met with the Bayern hierarchy to try and iron out their differences.

The journalist suggested that the outcome of the meeting was likely to dictate the winger’s fate, with the pacy wide-man still keeping his options open.

However, Tottenham may have to break their wage structure to land Sane, who is on top dollar at the Bavarian club.
