Tottenham fan favourite says he would easily win Europa League if he was still in charge

Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has now suggested that he could win the Europa League with this Spurs side.

Ange Postecoglou is under immense pressure at Spurs following a disastrous second season in charge.

With Tottenham Hotspur languishing in 14th place in the Premier League, the expectation is that he delivers a deep Europa League run—perhaps even going all the way.

Of course, that’s no easy feat. Even AI algorithms have given Tottenham just an 18.4% chance of winning the Europa League.

Another AI model has tipped Spurs to crash out in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, with Eintracht Frankfurt backed to reach the semis ahead of them.

Harry Redknapp makes bold Europa League claim

Should Tottenham fail to deliver in Europe, it could spell the end for Postecoglou. Even former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has insisted that Europa League success is non-negotiable for the Lilywhites.

Now, speaking on We Are Tottenham TV, Redknapp has suggested he would easily win the Europa League if he was managing this current Spurs side, suggesting it’s not on the same level as the Champions League.

“Listen, I’m ready, I can’t guarantee I’d do Saturdays because I go racing on Saturdays, I like to go to Newbury or Cheltenham,” Redknapp said.

“There’s the Europa League games midweek, luckily, so we only play Sundays anyway,” the host replied.

Redknapp followed up with: “Listen, if I can’t win the Europa League, we are in trouble, really, I’ll be truthful. It’s not the Champions League is it? That football last week, watching PSG and Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, you can’t beat that.”

Tottenham’s European fate and Ange Postecoglou’s future

This isn’t the first time Redknapp has hinted at a return to north London, but given he’s long retired, it seems far-fetched. What’s not in doubt, though, is the growing pressure on Postecoglou.

Pundits, ex-managers, and fans alike are all watching Postecoglou closely. With so much on the line, an early Europa League exit could all but seal Ange’s fate ahead of next season.
