Tottenham fans are all saying the same thing after Thomas Frank is sacked as head coach

Thomas Frank has officially been sacked by Tottenham Hotspur, and the fan base is united in their opinion about the timing of the decision.

It was reported earlier this week that Frank could lose is job if Spurs lose to Newcastle, with the club’s hierarchy at a ‘breaking point’ with the Dane.

However, in his post-match press conference after the loss to the Magpies, Frank insisted that he is ‘convinced’ he will still be in charge for the North London derby.

The Dane’s confidence proved rather misplaced with the Lilywhites deciding to sack their head coach this morning.

Spurs fans believe sacking Frank was the right decision

It is fair to say that many Spurs fans had lost faith in the 52-year-old a long time ago, and the reaction to the club’s decision on social media has been overwhelmingly positive.

One supporter wrote: “Well, can’t say I’m not happy, but is it too little too late? The next move is going to be make or break”, while another wrote: “Hope it’s not 4 months too late but finally good news.”

The general consensus among fans seems to be that Frank was a disastrous appointment, with one supporter commenting, “There goes the worst manager we’ll ever have”, while another fan agreed, writing: “Finally they make the right decision, good riddance.”

One Tottenham fan stated: “I thought he knew his football, obviously not, very poor Manager. No tactics, no formation, no motivation, nothing. I’m surprised he’s done as well as he did at Brentford.”

Many were delighted that the club had finally bitten the bullet and decided to take the big call. One tweet reads: “I actually never thought I’d see the day”.

One Tottenham supporter wrote: “Yes yes yes yes yes finally thank you”, which was the theme of many of the responses, with the decision appearing to delight Spurs fans.

There is also one tweet saying: “Just fell to my knees”, another writing: “YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS” and finally, one stating: “Thank god.”

Spurs had to act as relegation fears escalated

It was reported a couple of weeks ago that the Tottenham hierarchy had drawn a clear red line regarding Frank’s future, deciding that they would make a change if the club got pulled closer to the relegation zone.

With Spurs sitting just five points off the drop zone and having not won in eight Premier League matches, they were forced to act.

The club now have a week and a half before the North London derby, which made this the right time to make a change.
