Following the Lilywhites’ 1-0 victory against Manchester United, Tottenham fans are calling for Wilson Odobert to start more games after a 7-minute cameo.

Wilson Odobert returns for Spurs after hamstring injury
In their victory against Manchester United, manager Ange Postecoglou handed off game time to a few of his returning injured players.
James Maddison and Vicario started from the off, while Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert came off the bench for a brief cameo.
20-year-old Odobert, who had been out for over three months following an injury to his hamstring, had the briefest cameo – seven minutes – after replacing captain Heung-min Son in the 87th minute.

Spurs fans call for Wilson Odobert to start more games
Although he did not feature for long on Sunday, Spurs fans have seen enough to conclude that they want the winger to start more games.
This reaction came under our tweet where we asked fans for their thoughts on the winger’s sharp display. Tottenham fans were excited and are hoping the 20-year-old winger will start more games.
One fan, Zack Griffin said: “A good option? He’ll be starting on left or right after 2/3 weeks will become crucial as the season goes on allowing us to give son much-needed rest and start managing his minutes, Tel Solanke Odobert is something we’ll see going forward and will feed generations”
Another fan Ian THFC, is hoping Spurs can keep the young winger fit, he said: “Just having a player with his skill set makes us far more dangerous and unpredictable in attack. Hopefully, we can keep him fit for the rest of the season”
Kim Min Man is excited that Odobert’s return to fitness will reduce the workload on Son. He said: “Absolutely. Great option for left-sided attack. This will give Sonny some break to rotate and he’s legs will be fresh also and let Sonny be an option in the middle until Solanke comes back.”
Oliver F, simply stated: “I love son, but Odobert deserves a shot at starting a game.” Watson shares the same sentiment as Oliver, he stated: “He needs to be playing instead of Son now. He’s a passenger, sadly.”
The Son comparisons continued as one fan shared, “Son: 2 dribbles won in 86 minutes Odobert: 2 dribbles won in 2 minutes”

Tottenham Hotspur’s attacking depth increases following injured players return
The French winger’s return to fitness is a welcomed development for the Lilywhites, whose attacking depth is getting stronger as the season nears its end.
Tel Boy reminded Spurs fans about the depth they now have in attack when he stated: “The main thing is that we now have players pushing players again (whoever starts the games), and the majority of our front 6 can play in a number of different positions”
Should all the injured players return to full fitness, here is what the Lilywhites attacking options would look like.
Player | Positions |
---|---|
Dejan Kulusevski | Right Wing, Attacking Midfield |
Mathys Tel | Right Wing, Centre-Forward, Left Wing |
Heung-min Son | Left Wing, Right Wing, Centre-Forward |
Dominic Solanke | Centre-Forward |
Brennan Johnson | Right Wing |
Mikey Moore | Right Wing, Left Wing |
Timo Werner | Left Wing, Centre-Forward |
Dane Scarlett | Centre-Forward |
Wilson Odobert | Left Wing, Right Wing |
Should all these players remain fit, then Ange Postecoglou’s men will have a shot at getting their hands on the Europa League trophy.
