Tottenham fans remain firm in their belief that the club made the right call when parting ways with a former academy forward, despite his standout numbers this season.
Former Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate Troy Parrott has been in the headlines in recent weeks, especially during this international break.
The forward has been sensational to say the least for his national team, the Republic of Ireland, spearheading their victories over Portugal and Hungary.
Those victories now mean that Ireland are up to second in their World Cup qualifying group and are now set to play in the qualifying play-offs.
Tottenham have been slammed by Tim Sherwood this week for selling Parrott and wasting money on £60m strikers who are not as good as the Irishman.

Tottenham fans discuss Troy Parrot form and 20 G/A season
Troy Parrot has managed 15 goal contributions for his club this season, alongside his five goals for Ireland this week, showing just how good his recent form has been.
Spurs hold a sell-on clause in Parrott’s contract, but Tottenham fans have now opened up on whether the club made a mistake selling him in the first place. Many supporters remain adamant that the right decision was made.
One fan said: “He is improved because he could play every game without the pressure of playing in the Premier League and replacing Kane. He was never getting that chance at Spurs. The best thing for his career was to leave, if he had stayed he would still be on loan somewhere.”
Another stated: “Really? Between him and Kane at that time? You think he will get the opportunity? He is only doing well because he is away from the club. If he stays, he will get nothing but shadow.”
One more opined: “No, he ran his course at Tottenham. But what lessons should be learned from Troy should be giving Dane the opportunities Troy never really got. Especially since unlike Troy, the greatest striker in the world is not blocking his path.”
Another supporter contributed: “When you have the likes of Kane upfront you will not get much time to play, he wanted games so moved on.”
A final stated: “No. Credit to him for turning it around, but he was never going to start at Spurs.”
Spurs striker situation highlighted by Troy Parrott’s season
Parrot has scored more goals than Tottenham strikers combined this season, which is impressive. But he is playing in the Eredivisie, which is not as competitive as the Premier League.
Regardless, there is definitely a big drop in quality in the number nine position for Tottenham. Since Kane’s departure, no one has really matched the output and quality of the Englishman.
Dominic Solanke, of course, did alright in his first spell, but staying fit is equally an asset, something the former Bournemouth man has struggled to do in a Tottenham shirt.
