Tottenham fans plan one-off iconic sight to intimidate Man City

Tottenham Hotspur fans within the new stadium’s south stand are being asked to create an iconic image when the team host Manchester City on Tuesday night as they look to intimidate Pep Guardiola’s men.

Tottenham Hotspur beat Borussia Dortmund 4-0 over two legs in their Champions League last 16 tie giving the North London side a match in their brand new ‘state of the art’ stadium against Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final.

The North London side won their opening match at the new stadium on Wednesday night against Crystal Palace where some of the away players admitted they felt intimidated by the home set of fans in the new stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to do the exact same to current Premier League and League Cup winners Manchester City as they head to North London looking to continue their great run of form of 22 wins in 23 matches.

Borussia Dortmund’s own single tier stand are well known for making historic mosaics out of cards in which Tottenham are calling their fans to do the same on Tuesday night.

Ticket holders in the south stand were emailed the following (Football London): “Help us start the match with a clear message of intent. All ticket holders in the South Stand will find a coloured, 100 per cent recyclable plastic bag on their seat upon arrival.

“By holding the bag up with the plain side facing towards the pitch as the teams enter the field of play, we shall display a motif of our ‘To Dare Is To Do’ motto that will fill the entire south stand providing an unforgettable visual impact.

“We kindly ask for your co-operation for a total of 60 seconds to create an iconic image that will be seen around the world once again showcasing our new home in its glory.

“After the match, we would ask that you kindly dispose of your bag within one of our dry mixed recycling bins located around the stadium – or take home with you to re-use. We shall also ensure that any left behind will be collected and recycled.”

This will for sure be a historic and memorable sight to see for Tottenham fans and fans across the world in the new White Hart Lane.
