Tottenham fans react as Spurs hierarchy make back or sack decision on Thomas Frank

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have expressed frustrations following the club’s decision to stick with Thomas Frank after a disappointing run of games.

What started as a promising spell in north London has unravelled for Thomas Frank, who has managed just one win from his last seven Premier League outings.

Defeats to sides sitting in mid-table, those pushing for the top four, and teams locked in relegation scraps have underlined just how inconsistent Tottenham have been under the Dane so far this season.

Despite the mounting pressure on the Spurs boss, reports suggest that following board-level meetings, the Tottenham hierarchy has opted to back Thomas Frank rather than make any knee-jerk decisions at this stage.

Tottenham fans react as club backs Thomas Frank

Spurs fans have now caught wind of those reports, and the decision has sparked a wave of reaction across social media, with frustration, sarcasm and resignation all on display.

Reacting to the club’s stance, one supporter wrote, “Giving the wrong manager time 😂 typical Spurs,” while another added, “Ah crap. We are finishing ninth this season at best.”

However, one fan took a more measured view by saying, “As much as I do not agree with this, if the board have no interest in sacking him we might as well get behind him and give him the backing from the fan side of things.”

Others were far less optimistic, with one fan commenting, “We will have the nicest stadium in the Championship next season that is for sure,” while another added, “Two more weeks and we are in a relegation battle. Success.”

The frustration continued to spill over, with one supporter stating, “Ah yeah, already backed him loads in the summer, why not splash another £200m on someone who clearly is not the right manager for us,” before another piled on with, “Hope they are happy with Championship football next season then.”

Spurs season hangs in the balance under Thomas Frank

The frustration from supporters is easy to understand, as the football on display under Frank has been far from convincing and has done little to ease nerves.

Tottenham currently sit in the thick of the table, with just six points separating them from fourth place and the same margin keeping them clear of 17th, a reflection of how fine the margins are at this stage.

If Frank’s side go on to suffer back-to-back defeats in their upcoming fixtures against Liverpool and Crystal Palace, then this campaign could quickly turn into one where Spurs are scrapping to stay in the division rather than looking up the table.
