What Tottenham fans have said to Harry Kane after his trophy drought finally ends

Tottenham Hotspur fans have flooded social media with messages of congratulations for Harry Kane and Eric Dier, after the duo finally got their hands on a major trophy after years of near misses in north London.

The wait is finally over for Harry Kane and Eric Dier, who now join 61 other former Tottenham Hotspur players who left Tottenham and went on to win silverware.

The pair have now clinched the Bundesliga title after Bayern Munich were confirmed as champions, with Bayer Leverkusen failing to secure a win against SC Freiburg, drawing 2-2 with the fourth-placed side on Sunday.

Kane and Dier could have sealed the title earlier in the week if the 34-time Bundesliga champions had defeated RB Leipzig, but it ended in heartbreak on the touchline for Kane instead.

Tottenham fans react as Harry Kane and Eric Dier win first major trophy

With the first major title of their careers now secured, Spurs fans have been quick to send congratulatory messages to their former players.

Many took to social media to post their reactions. One fan wrote: “Finally he did it, congratulations Harry.” Another added: “Congrats H, & Eric well done! Hope we at Spurs can match it later this month. COYS.”

More congratulatory messages followed: “Congratulations @HKane @ericdier.” Another stated: “Well done chaps!”

One fan believes this could just be the start: “Kane is going to win everything from now on.” Another added: “Congratulations Harry!! One of our own. Still love ya, dude!! ⚽️⚽️⚽️ COYS.”

More love poured in: “Am genuinely pleased for them both.. well done to both. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 🏆” A final fan summed it up: “Much deserved for both of them, Tottenham icons.”

Spurs fans hope Kane success signals shift in fortune

Indeed, many of the Tottenham faithful are pleased to see Harry Kane and Eric Dier reach such a huge milestone in their careers, and for good reason, as both players gave their all for the north London club when they wore the Lilywhite of Spurs.

That being said, Tottenham are still very much in the run-in to end their own trophy drought this season, as they are currently fighting for a place in the Europa League final.

At the moment, they have a foot in it, as they hold a two-goal advantage over Bodo/Glimt.

Should Spurs get past the Norwegian outfit, then a matchup against Manchester United could be on the cards – and if the two English clubs meet, ex-Spurs man Jamie O’Hara believes Tottenham will beat Manchester United comfortably.
